Docs: Your Files & Privacy

Your Files & Privacy

Your writing stays on your computer. Ravenburst has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking.

Where your work lives

  • Each project is a single .ravenburst file: every chapter, note, character sheet, image and snapshot. New projects are suggested to Documents/Ravenburst, but you can keep them anywhere.
  • Exports are suggested to Documents/Ravenburst/Exports.
  • App settings, your custom dictionary, your tabletop library and license details are kept in Ravenburst's own settings folder on your computer, separate from your projects. File → My Library & Dictionary exports the dictionary and library to a file you can take to another computer.
  • Git Backup adds a hidden .git folder and a .gitignore file next to your project.

Project files are SQLite databases, an open format, so your work is never locked into Ravenburst. You can always export it to Word, PDF, EPUB or plain text.
